Plagiarism Check:
The Manipur University is a core member of the INFLIBNET Centre, Gandhinagar. As a member, the university is facilitated with the access of web-based plagiarism detection software (PDS) i.e. Ouriginal (formerly Urkund) from Shodhshuddhi, and deposit the university thesis to Shodhganga (a repository of Indian Thesis), projects of INFLIBNET Centre.
The academic and research community of the university are requested to follow strictly the UGC approved plagiarism checking regulations 2018 that is incorporated in the Manipur University Ph.D. Regulation 2019 and upload their thesis to Shodhganga repository. For which following guidelines must be followed by the library users.
For Similarity/Plagiarism Check at the Library (Before submission)
- The document must be in the existing file formats such as pdf (searchable format), word, xslx, zip, html, etc. which are accepted by the software. For regional/national language scripts character must be in Unicode Font.
- All the chapters/parts of the document (thesis/other manuscripts) must be in a single file.
- Faculty members can create plagiarism checking accounts.
- Faculty shall register for “New Account” in PDS.
- Research scholars/Students shall create “New Account” in PDS.
- Supervisors/Research Guide must check the analysis of documents submitted.
- After the report is generated, a plagiarism verification certificate shall be issued to the content owner, by the library as per Annexure-IV.
- Faculty members or research scholars should strictly follow the Ph.D. regulation for plagiarism of the University, which is mentioned in Principle of the UGC (Promotion of Academic Integrity and Prevention of Plagiarism in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulation 2018.
- The manuscripts must be checked by the concerned supervisors. When the matter is getting complicated, it should be put up in the Departmental Academic Integrity Panel (DAIP) and then the Institutional Academic Integrity Panel (IAIP).
- Faculty members or Research Scholars may consult the University Library whenever they have any doubts about using plagiarism detection software.
- Plagiarism Check for Regional Languages shall be allowed when the abstract of the thesis/documents is transliterated into English.
- Plagiarism verification certificate shall be signed by the authorized officers of the library, scholar, and the supervisor
For submission at Shodhganga:
- After Ph.D. Viva is conducted and degree is awarded; the final copy of the thesis, both Softcopy & Hardcopy, shall be submitted in the library for uploading to the Shodhganga Repository and MUIR.
- The final copy of the thesis shall be submitted to the library both in Hardcopy & Softcopy in pdf file.
- All the pages must be signed both in softcopy & hardcopy file
- The softcopy of the thesis available in PDF shall be in a searchable file (OCRing feature) and without password protected
- The softcopy of the thesis shall be submitted in CD/DVD or through the official email id of the librarian, i.e., <librarian@manipuruniv.ac.in>.
- The structure of the softcopy of the thesis shall be (written in a RUNNING letter, not in CAPITAL) submitted in split pdf file format. The metadata format of the split pdf files of the thesis are as follows:

No replacement of the thesis hardcopy/softcopy after submission in the library will be done except under certain conditions such as natural calamities etc.
IT IS MANDATORY TO SUBMIT THE DOCUMENTS TO THE LIBRARY WITH THE FORMAT MENTIONED ABOVE FOR BOTH PLAGIARISM CHECK AND DEPOSITION OF THESIS.
